Effortless Precision

This Visi-Pro™ Stent is a balloon expandable stent made from a 316L stainless steel tube that is cut into an open lattice design. It has tantalum radiopaque markers at the proximal and distal ends of the stent. The stent is mounted (crimped) onto a tightly-folded balloon catheter and expanded and deployed by inflating the balloon.

The On-Target Stent Placement System

The Protege GPS Self-Expanding Peripheral Stent is a self-expanding Nitinol stent system. The stent is made of a nickel titanium alloy (Nitinol) and comes on a 6F over-the-wire delivery system. The stent is cut from a Nitinol tube into an open lattice design and has tantalum radiopaque markers at the proximal and distal ends of the stent. Upon deployment, the stent achieves its predetermined diameter and exerts a constant, outward force to establish patency in the peripheral arteries.

Protege EverFlex+ Self-Expanding Peripheral Stent System The EverFlex+ Self-Expanding Peripheral Stent System is a self-expanding Nitinol stent system intended for permanent implantation. The self-expanding stent is made of a nickel titanium alloy (Nitinol) and comes pre-mounted on a 6F, 0.035" over-the-wire delivery system. The stent is cut from a Nitinol tube in an open lattice design, and has tantalum radiopaque markers at the proximal and distal ends of the stent.

Carotid Stents

According to the American Heart Association, stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States behind heart disease and cancer and the major cause of serious long term disability. One of the main causes of stroke is atherosclerosis of the carotid arteries, commonly referred to as Carotid Artery Disease. The build up of plaque in the carotid arteries may lead to a stroke in one of two ways:

  1. Plaque build up narrowing the blood vessel so that the flow of blood to the brain is blocked
  2. Pieces of plaque or a blood clot can break off and travel to a smaller artery in the brain, blocking the blood flow in that artery

Treatment options for Carotid Artery Disease include lifestyle modification, medication, surgery and less-invasive procedures such as Carotid Artery Stenting. ev3 offers two product innovations indicated for a carotid artery stenting procedure: The PROTÉGÉ RX Carotid Stent System and the SpiderFX™ Embolic Protection Device.
